That Ref
What the fuck was that tonight? Not sure if it looked as bad as it did in the ground but can someone explain how a ref who has been caught being dodgy can ref another game? Some very weird decisions red card aside, happened tonight.
The amount of times he played advantage when they dived and then blew the whistle only for them to get up again was so blatant.
Probably the worst ref I’ve seen ever… honestly!

Re: That Ref
Never rated Jonathon Moss but thought he had an excellent game at Everton today. Next time I think of having a go at him I will think of the cheating buffoon who totally destroyed the Lyon match, he should never be near a top flight match again.

Re: That Ref
Bellingham wasn't the only one to call him out in Germany.
Haaland called him arrogant when he denied Dortmund a clear penalty and then refused to consult VAR.l saying he didn't need to. Sent the Dortmund manager off in the same incident.

Can Cresswell (or the club) appeal the red card?

Gale interview with Hackett

Good point! I wonder if Gazza would have become a world beater if Hackett hadn't sent off Gale as he wouldn't have been able to kick Gary Charles otherwise!

There is a video on You Tube of a meeting and discussion between Tony Gale and Keith Hackett a couple of years ago. Uncomfortable doesn't describe it.

Re: That Ref

Why is it that we always get appalling luck in the big games? The Tony Gale sending off, Sammy Lee not interfering with play & last nights sending off etc. The ref fell for their dodgy tactics all night long & then sends cressie off for next to nothing! We have to beat this team in the return leg!

Re: That Ref
After watching the mostly excellent European refs at the Euros I was under the mistaken impression that they were all superior to the Premier league buffoons.
Maybe many are but in the two latest home games v Sevilla & Lyon we have seen a French clown Monsiuer 'Dick' Turpin and this German convicted match fixer who managed to be worse.
Diabolical performance from start to finish.
Summed it up with that foul throw and then having found 8 mins of injury time by my watch he finished at least 30 sec to a minute early.
Perhaps his classic was the Lyon player who sat on the ground moaning that he had been fouled. And he stopped the game so he could get up ... not injured in the slightest ... to complain in person.

Nerd. I ref my sons u11 games. I wouldn't make any of the fuck ups this ref did. And I don't have var or "professional" linesman.

Re: That Ref
Nerd - that was incredible, the one where his leg was half way up his bum when he threw it, then the other one where he dropped it on the pitch and was allowed to retake.

The blatant corner he didn’t give when standing 5 yards away in the first half, stopping the game for non head injuries, it really was very odd.

Re: That Ref
I think allowing the lyon player to retake a throw in after a dreadful foul throw ,summed him up. That is U8 standard reffing last night, appalling. .

Re: That Ref
Zico. Fortunately we still in the cup. Forest blew us out of the water. Hackett decision had a bigger impact. Meaning Hackett = Bigger Cunt.

Re: That Ref
No doubt he was on the take. No top tier ref is that incompetent or one-sided, including the shower of shit that referees Premier League game.

He is not the ref next match.

Re: That Ref
Far worse than Hackett. Hackett made and absolutely terrible decision but in his slight defence the authorities brought in changes to the rule that particular week which hamstrung him to a certain extent. So changing a rule mid season was as much to blame for the decision as Hackett was, although he made the stupid decision of course!

That fella last night got it wrong all over the park. Not giving a foul on Bowen, the sending off, Bowen's yellow card, stopping play for someone falling over rather than for just a head injury. He wasn't actually going by the Laws of the Game on numerous occasions and UEFA should pick up on that. I would be interested to see the scores in his performance report.

Just for the "wink" the card should be over turned as that's clear evidence the fella conned the Referee but as always UEFA and the Referees will close ranks and nothing will be done.

Is there anyway for a team to compile a case and present it to the footballing bodies?
That referee performance was very very strange - and I would say that if he gave everything in our favour too.

It didn’t add up
